John Grade’s Union hangs roughly 100 feet between eight trees in the Washington Park Arboretum: two structures of cast resin framed in wood, enlarging the cellular patterns of two broken cedar leaders. Thousands of cupped forms hold rainwater, and the added weight shifts the upper structure against the lower.
