Robert Morris’s Steam Work rises from a twenty-by-twenty-foot square of rock on Western Washington University’s campus. Its visible form changes continuously with wind, sunlight and fog.

Before you go

Steam appears only during scheduled windows. Arrive just before one; between windows the square may be empty. Stay outside the rock and beam square.
