Mark Dion’s Neukom Vivarium houses a sixty-foot nurse log in an eighty-foot greenhouse. As the tree decays, other organisms live on it.
The work
Magnifying glasses and blue-and-white tiles of fungi, lichens, plants and insects give the room the character of a field station.
Before you go
Magnifiers show what the eye misses. The log keeps decaying, so the work changes between visits.
